Chronicling a Love Affair with Canadian Theatre

Lighthouse Theatre Announces Its 2025 Season

The Lighthouse Theatre in Port Dover, Ontario, was new to me this season, but based on my visit to see Norm Foster’s Lakefront, I’ll be returning to their comfy 350-seat house next year.

Lighthouse has announced its 2025 season and it looks more than promising. It kicks off with Mark Crawford’s delightful The New Canadian Curling Club, which I saw a few years back at the Blyth Festival (but neglected to review).

Lighthouse will also be presenting three Norm Foster plays! Hidden Treasures is a double bill of Foster one-acts, and Here on the Flight Path, is billed as “a comedic exploration of love, life, and the quirky characters who inhabit a Toronto apartment building,” which sounds like Foster’s sweet spot.

Speaking of Norm Foster, Lighthouse will also mount the world premiere of Pinkerton Comes to Prospect by actor-director Jamie Williams who is Artistic Associate at the Foster Festival.

You can read all about it at the Lighthouse Theatre’s website.

2025 will also mark the accession of Jane Spence as Artistic Director. I wish her good luck and godspeed.
